If you are visiting this site then chances are good that you are considering having a laser eye surgery procedure.  Thousands and thousands of people have had laser eye correction in order to fix their vision and this has improved their quality of life immensely.  Often those who have had to rely on glasses for years are able to get rid of them for the first time.

•    What exactly is Laser Eye Surgery?

Laser Eye Surgery is an advanced medical procedure that is very effective at correcting medical eye disorders.

There are however a few different types of laser eye surgery available.  Types of different corrective eye procedure are: PRK Eye Surgery and LASIK Eye Surgery.  These two operations differ in the way they are accomplished.  We will discuss these options in a later post.

Many people who are thinking about having these operations done are worried about how painful it will be.  In reality however there is very little pain, but some people just can’t handle the discomfort or thought of someone operating on their eyes.

If you are seriously considering laser eye surgery, it would be prudent to start the process as soon as you possibly can – in fact you’ve taken the first step by researching it here on our site!

You should visit an ophthalmologist as soon as you can to determine whether you can have the operation or not.  The ophthalmologist will check your eyes as well as your vision and be able to notify you as to whether you will qualify for having laser surgery.  Some people who have certain types of eye disorders cannot qualify and this is what qualified laser eye surgeons (or ophthalmologists) will tell you.  You probably also want to know what the laser eye surgery risks are.

Depending on how healthy your eyes are will determine whether you will be able to have the procedure.  Make sure that the laser eye surgeon you choose is committed to taking care of you properly throughout the laser eye procedure and afterwards.

But don’t worry; most people are suited to having lazer eye surgery so get checked out as soon as possible!
